With a musical sound that combines the rich roots of folk & Americana with the classic sentiments of pop, the voices of Brandon James and Femke of Cotton Wine create a hauntingly irresistible high energy combination of Pop-Americana that continues to leave listeners completely captivated.

Based in Nashville, Tennessee, Cotton Wine is the epitome of a DIY group – writing, engineering, producing, and performing all their own songs, as well as creating their own music videos. Both Brandon and Femke are not only professional vocalists, but each have their own multi-instrumental skill set - Brandon plays guitar, piano, mandolin, drums / percussion; Femke plays accordion, piano, guitar, ukulele, banjo, bass, drums / percussion.

Individually, they have both been recognized with numerous nominations and awards. Brandon was named by Music Connection Magazine as one of the "Hot 100 Unsigned Artists of 2011/2012" and in 2011 received 3 nominations from the Los Angeles Music Awards for Country Artist of the Year, Country Album Of The Year, and Country Single Of The Year for “Down In the Sand.” Femke is a master’s graduate of the renowned Berklee College of Music, won the prestigious Harold Adamson Lyric Award from ASCAP in 2011 and is a 2014 Latin Grammy Winner for her work with artist Beto Cuevas.

Originally hailing from Toronto, Canada and Groningen, Holland respectively, Brandon and Femke first met in Los Angeles in 2006 before beginning on a cross-country road trip in 2012 when they both separately decided to move to Nashville. After writing their first song “Going East” while on the road, Brandon recorded a video using an iPhone and posted it on YouTube. That video spurred a flurry of activity online from friends and new fans loving their new sound and wondering what the duo's name was. A simple “off the cuff” video in a car turned two solo artists into a duo that would change their plans completely. After thousands of views, Cotton Wine’s “Song-A-Week” series premiered on YouTube in the spring of 2012, which resulted in over 200,000 views and an ever-growing fan base. Their debut self-titled album, “Cotton Wine” is available digitally worldwide and they perform regularly at famous Nashville venues like the Bluebird Cafe, Douglas Corner & the Loveless Cafe. In 2014, Cotton Wine was invited to showcase at the Folk Alliance Conference in Kansas City, Missouri, headlined Nashville's Bacon & Bourbon Festival at the Loveless Cafe, performed a featured artist spotlight show at the famous Bluebird Cafe and appeared as a headline act during the inaugural Americana Experience festival in Franklin, Tennessee.

Mysterious, insightful and theatrical, Cotton Wine takes you on a wonderful journey through the songs of the American heart. Their signature vocal sound is a reflection and a personal interpretation of the music that was born from their new home in the South. Enjoy some of their acclaimed songs such as the free spirited “Corn In A Cotton Field”, the haunting mountain murder ballad, “Murder Song”, and the romantic anthem about true love, “When You Know You Know”. Along with signature versions of classic popular folk & Americana favorites like “Ring Of Fire,” “Heart of Gold” and “Don’t Think Twice, It’s Alright,” this new Pop-Americana breakout duo brings the stage to life.
